Founder Retiring As CEO of Bank That Interwest Of Wash. Bought

Interwest Bancorp in Oak Harbor, Wash., said Patrick M. Fahey will retire July 1 as president and chief executive officer of its Pacific Northwest Bank in Seattle.

No successor has been chosen, the company said.

Mr. Fahey founded Pacific Northwest in 1998 and was its president, CEO, and chairman when Interwest bought it in June of last year. He then joined the Interwest board as vice chairman of commercial banking. He will remain chairman of Pacific Northwest as well as a member of the $2.5 billion-asset holding company's executive committee.

Interwest Bancorp owns four banks, all in Washington -- Pacific Northwest, Interwest Bank in Oak Harbor, Kittitas Valley Bank in Ellensburg, and National Bank of Tukwila -- and 56 branches.
