Smart Bits: Mondex Exec Joins E-Business Consultancy

International Ltd., has been named CEO of the Internet business consultancy Citria.

Mr. Potts spent five years with Mondex, which began as a project of National Westminster Bank in London and since 1997 has been 51% owned by MasterCard International. He was responsible for global development, sales, and support of all Mondex products and services and the Multos multiple-application operating system.

Citria, a London-based unit of Internet start-up specialist Protege that was founded in 1998, said it has been growing at a rate of 20% a month and aims to be "the leading e-business provider in Europe."

With Mr. Potts coming in as CEO, Citria managing director Ivan Izkowitz becomes chief operating officer. Mr. Izkowitz, formerly of the Internet service provider Virgin Net, co-founded Citria with Larry Levy, founder of Protege, which has launched 14 U.S. software companies' operations in Europe.
