Wachovia Widens Internet Loan Options

Wachovia Corp. has added four types of loans for which consumers may apply through the Internet: home equity line of credit, personal line of credit, home equity loan, or personal installment loan.

The site previously took mortgage, auto, and credit card loan applications.

Consumer applicants get back an e-mail verification with a password. Within one business day they can revisit Wachovia's Web site, type in their user name and password, and find out whether the loan has been approved.

The site also has a six-question worksheet to help consumers figure out which credit product is right for them.
