Federated Expands Equifax Contract To Credit System

Equifax said it has won a multiyear contract with Federated Department Stores Inc. of Cincinnati to supply a full line of credit information systems and services.

Federated has been a customer of Equifax Check Solutions since 1997. The addition of credit information exemplifies the Atlanta company's "total solution" approach, built around comprehensive information and payment services.

"We like nothing better than to be able to bring our total solution to a customer by providing complementary services that minimize risk throughout the entire credit and payment life cycles," said Bill Catucci, an Equifax executive vice president and head of the North American information services group.

A wide range of risk assessment and management tools plus credit marketing and collections services will be deployed throughout such Federated units as Bloomingdale's, Bon Marche, Burdines, Goldsmith's, Lazarus, Macy's, Rich's, and Stern's.
