Short Takes: System Offered to Link E-Banking, Brokerage

Prologic Corp., a provider of client/server banking systems that is based in Vancouver, Canada, this week unveiled a software product that integrates electronic banking, brokerage, and insurance functions.

The i-Wealthview system lets bank customers view financial portfolio information such as consolidated net worth statements through a personalized Web page linked to the bank's site. The system also encourages cross-selling, for example, by suggesting that a customer replace a financial product from a competing institution with an equivalent one from the home institution.

I-Wealthview is being marketed to large financial institutions, many of which are still having trouble integrating bank and brokerage systems, said Bruce Nunn, a Prologic spokesman. Large banks in South Africa and Mexico have licensed the system, Mr. Nunn said, and Prologic is in discussions with several large banking companies in the United States and Canada.
