Comerica Inc. Names Executives

Comerica Inc. in Detroit has promoted Mark J. Herman to a senior vice president in its private banking division.

He reports to David B. Stephens, the unit's executive vice president.

Mr. Herman is director of strategic initiatives for the division and oversees information processing and financial analysis as well as Comerica's Florida banking operation. He also manages an arrangement that allows PaineWebber customers to receive trust and other financial services from Comerica's private banking division.

Mr. Herman joined the company in 1984 and was promoted to president of Comerica Bank's Muskegon, Mich., region in 1986. He has 20 years of financial services experience.

Comerica has $37.2 billion of assets.
