Card Briefs: Buying Guide Firm Accepts Visa On-Line

Thomas Register, which publishes electronic buying guides, is accepting Visa purchasing cards and other Visa products for on-line payments.

Shoppers who use purchasing cards will receive "level three" transaction data, the maximum amount of information available for corporate procurement. This includes product descriptions, shipping charges, unit costs, item numbers, and sales tax.

Thomas Register on the Internet, a division of Thomas Publishing Co., offers an on-line directory of industrial products and services.

The Visa option "makes the payment process more efficient and cost- effective" and "enables merchants to attract further business from both government purchasers and the 75% of Fortune 500 companies that use purchasing cards," said Pat Daloisio, associate publisher of Thomas Register.
