In Brief: Conventions Merged to Boost Attendance

Hoping to increase attendance, two large bank trade groups have agreed to combine their conventions.

The Ohio Bankers Association will invite Michigan Bankers Association members to its convention in San Diego in November, and the Michigan group will include the Ohio bankers at its gathering at Mackinac Island, Mich., in June 2000.

Attendance has dwindled at both states' events as banks have merged. The Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana bankers associations have held educational events together for more than five years.
