In Brief: Software Firm Gets $11M of Venture Capital

RightPoint Software Corp. said it has completed an $11 million round of financing that included an investment by the Internet banking systems provider Edify Corp.

Brentwood Venture Capital led the financing, which included other prominent venture firms and previous RightPoint investors Sequoia Capital, Canaan Partners, and Atlas Venture.

RightPoint, which competes in the market for one-to-one marketing and cross-selling software, is "the only vendor that delivers a product combining strong analytics with real-time customer interaction across all touch-points," said director and Sequoia general partner Doug Leone.

Edify has a reseller arrangement with RightPoint. Edify vice president William Soward said his customers are seeking to "generate additional revenue through higher customer loyalty, cross-selling, and up-selling." He said RightPoint has rapidly emerged "as the leader in real-time campaign management software."
