Short Takes: Bisys Offers On-Line Trading, Account Data

Bisys Fund Services has introduced a Web-based mutual fund account inquiry and trading system.

WebSolutions consolidates data from multiple back-office systems, allowing investors to simultaneously view several accounts on-line, said Jim McCoy, a vice president of Bisys Fund Services of Columbus, Ohio. They can also buy, sell, and exchange orders using the system.

Previously, investors had to call a toll-free number or their broker for their account value, said Mr. McCoy, who heads the unit that develops products for mutual fund companies and brokerages. Brokers will also be able to use the system.

About eight mutual fund companies and a handful of brokerage firms are doing due diligence, Mr. McCoy said.

Bisys Fund Services is an arm of Bisys Group Inc. of Little Falls, N.J.
