Capital Briefs: Leaders Seeking Changes in Global Finance

Global economic leaders vowed last weekend to reform the international financial infrastructure.

After meeting with G-7 finance ministers and central bankers in Bonn, Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin said in a prepared statement that world leaders will convene a financial stability forum to discuss how to improve economic cooperation among countries. Leaders also agreed to disclose more foreign exchange data and promised to encourage new types of International Monetary Fund financing.
