Chase Promotes Longtime Information Exec To Head Corporate Cash

Chase Manhattan Corp. has named Lorraine Hricik executive vice president of its corporate cash management unit, Chase Treasury Solutions.

The unit is part of global services, which produced $2.6 billion of revenue last year from securities processing, global custody, and other wholesale services.

Ms. Hricik, 47, succeeds her former boss, Douglas T. Williams, who retired Jan. 28.

Ms. Hricik has worked at Chase since 1976 and most recently was chief information officer of global services and head of technology and operations in the treasury solutions unit, which employs 4,500 people.

"Lori's leadership capabilities and industry expertise are well known in the banking and treasury management communities," said James Zeigon, senior managing director and head of Chase Global Services.

Mr. Williams, 58, joined Chase in 1986 as group executive of international bank services. He became Chase Treasury Solutions' lead executive after the 1996 merger with Chemical Banking Corp.

Ms. Hricik described Mr. Williams as "a great business leader and a friend. He empowered his team to manage and grow the business."

Ms. Hricik is on Chase's technology governance board, which makes policy decisions about the bank's use of technology. She is also chairwoman of the advisory board to the New York Clearing House's Interbank Payments Co. and a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's wholesale payments advisory group.

Chase also named Benjamin Cassese head of operations and Susan J. Webb head of technology in the treasury solutions unit.
