Card Briefs: Phone Calls Will Ride On Wells Fargo Cards

IDT, a long-distance telephone company, will create customized calling cards for Wells Fargo & Co.'s credit card customers.

Under the deal, IDT will provide toll-free numbers for Wells Fargo customers to make low-cost calls. Access numbers will be printed on stickers for customers to mount on their credit cards.

IDT will maintain a dedicated customer service line for Wells Fargo clients, who will be able to choose a PIN to use with the calling card function.

"We are partnering with IDT Corp. to provide our credit card customers the advantage of low long-distance rates and the convenience of calling cards," said Leisa Peterson, Wells Fargo business benefits manager. "The calling card market is growing at such a rapid pace that it makes sense for Wells Fargo to offer these benefits."
