Short Takes: Mellon Bank Shuffles Top Insurance Execs

The vice president in charge of insurance for Mellon Bank Corp. has left, a company spokesman said.

Michael Malloy, who left the banking company two weeks ago, oversaw the integration of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.-based Clair Odell Insurance Agency, a large commercial insurance specialist the bank bought in the summer.

For some time, however, Mellon's insurance agency operations had been overseen by Phil Kocher, the spokesman said last week.

Mr. Kocher has assumed Mr. Malloy's duties and is now vice president of insurance operations, the spokesman said.
