In Brief: Microsoft's MSN Adds Brokerage Providers

Microsoft Corp. has signed up three brokerages to be service providers on its MSN MoneyCentral Web site.

DLJdirect, Fidelity Investments, and Waterhouse Securities join Charles Schwab & Co., Discover Brokerage, and E-Trade Securities.

At the site, consumers can download account information and statements from the brokerages into their MoneyCentral portfolio manager or Microsoft Money 99 personal finance software.

"Consumers like working with institutions where they can get their portfolios and account registers updated in Internet time," said Lewis Levin, vice president of the desktop finance division at Microsoft.
