Peoples State Bank of Hamtramck, Mich., has promoted cashier David A. Wilson to chief financial officer.

Mr. Wilson remains a senior vice president of the $353 million-asset bank.

The CFO post had been vacant since summer, when John Zagac left. Mr. Zagac had joined Peoples State just last May, when it absorbed his employer, Madison National Bank of Madison Heights, Mich.

He is now a senior vice president of Danielson Associates Inc., a management consulting firm in Toledo, Ohio.

Peoples State also hired Donald R. Phillippi as a senior vice president and head of retail banking and marketing, succeeding Michael DeMeyere, who left the bank. Mr. Phillippi was a vice president in correspondent banking at Comerica Bank in Detroit.

Jon A. Bird, another Comerica executive, was hired as Peoples' compliance and Community Reinvestment Act officer. Mr. Bird was a vice president in Comerica's financial institutions group.
