Columbia Bank Names Executive

Columbia Bank, a subsidiary of Columbia Bancorp in Maryland, has promoted senior vice president Scott C. Nicholson to lead its acquisition, development, and construction lending division.

Mr. Nicholson is in charge of lending to residential builders and developers in the Baltimore-Washington area. He is a 20-year veteran of financial services who joined Columbia Bank in 1993. Previously he worked for First American Metro Corp. and First American Bank of Maryland.

He succeeded Charles C. Holman, an executive vice president, who retired from the lending division's top job after 11 years.
