In Brief: Atlanta Firm Unveils Purchasing Software

Clarus Corp. has introduced Clarus Commerce electronic procurement software.

The programs let businesses manage and control purchasing and other corporate resources, with a real-time comparison view of outlays with budgets and the capability to adjust expenditures quickly and often.

Using Web technology, Clarus Commerce can connect front-line employees to processes such as procurement, expenses, budgeting, and planning.

Steven Hornyak, vice president of strategy and business development, said Clarus Commerce is "for internal use," deployed on a corporate intranet or hosted application. "It is focused on automating the manual tasks that people normally do," he said.

Clarus has 20 customers and 70,000 employees using its products. Financial industry clients include MasterCard International, First Data Corp., and Toronto-Dominion Bank.
