Eagle Bancshares Names Executive

SOUTHEAST

Eagle Bancshares in Tucker, Ga., has hired a longtime banker and a beer wholesaler for senior jobs.

Glenn E. Hicks 3d, former president and CEO of Premium Beverage Inc., was named a managing director of Eagle Bancshares Capital Group, which lends to small and medium-size businesses in greater Atlanta. Mr. Hicks is also a former chairman of the National Beer Wholesalers Association.

Michael K. Lavin was named senior vice president of commercial lending at the holding company's Tucker Federal Bank. Mr. Lavin was a group vice president for Birmingham, Ala.-based SouthTrust Bank, managing its north Atlanta commercial region. He has been in the Atlanta banking community since 1984.

Tucker Federal also announced four hires at lower ranks.

Clay Thomas came in as commercial lending officer for Tucker Federal's Alpharetta branch. He was a business banking officer at Wachovia Bank. W. Jerome Dean, Karen Koundourakis, and Cassandra P. Thomas were hired as branch managers.

Mr. Dean and Ms. Koundourakis both came from NationsBank. Mr. Dean, who was a vice president and banking center manager, will manage Tucker Federal's Dunwoody branch. Ms. Koundourakis, who was a consumer and commer- cial lender, will manage the Lawrenceville branch.

Ms. Thomas, who was a private financial adviser at Wachovia, will run the Union City branch.
