BDO Seidman LLP, the New York accounting and consulting firm, has hired Jack Wilson as its partner in charge of the newly created New York metropolitan area banking practice.

Mr. Wilson was a partner at Ernst & Young LLP. He headed the audit and tax practices of its banking group, managing relationships with broker- dealers and banks.

He was also a member of the firm's international banking and financial services steering group, with responsibilities for the Asia/Pacific region.

Before joining Ernst & Young he was a partner at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP.

In his BDO Seidman job he will be based in Manhattan and run the New York banking practice's offices there and in Valhalla, N.Y. in Westchester County; in Melville, N.Y., on Long Island; and in Saddle Brook and Woodbridge, N.J.
