Private-Clients Leader At J.P. Morgan Resigns

J.P. Morgan & Co. said the head of its global private-client group resigned Thursday.

James H. Higgins 3d, who left to spend time with his family, continues as advisory director. James E. Staley succeeds him, a spokeswoman said.

Mr. Staley, a managing director, most recently worked in the capital markets group.

J. Edward Odegaard, one of Mr. Higgins' deputies, left to pursue "entrepreneurial" interests, the spokeswoman said. The two executives had expanded the group, creating regional divisions.

The regional heads, named Thursday, are: Ann Borowiec, eastern U.S.; Scott Nycum, central U.S.; John Duffy, western U.S. and Latin America; and Adam Wethered, Europe. The bank has yet to name an executive for Asia.
