In Brief: 1st Union Treasurer to Leave; Aide Moves Up

First Union Corp. said Thursday that its treasurer, Kenneth R. Stancliff, will retire in June and be succeeded by his assistant, Thomas J. Wurtz.

Mr. Stancliff, 57, has held the post at the nation's sixth-largest banking company since December 1988. He joined First Union in 1973.

Mr. Wurtz has worked at First Union for four years, having joined the company as director of corporate forecasting before being named assistant treasurer.
