In Brief: Mellon On-Line Using Innovision Software

Mellon Bank Corp. said it will use Innovision Corp. software to let customers bank on-line using personal financial management software such as Intuit Inc.'s Quicken and Microsoft Corp.'s Money.

Customers will be connected to the bank's internal systems, using the Open Financial Exchange protocol.

"This is an important step toward enhancing our commitment to PC-based personal financial management products, making them more cost-effective, convenient, and easy for our customers," said James Morrill, senior vice president and head of direct banking at Mellon.

The Pittsburgh-based bank offers Web and personal computer banking. Innovision has 10 financial institution clients, including Discover Brokerage and two unidentified investment banks.
