Amsouth Bank has promoted Keith Crissman to Fort Myers, Fla., city president.

Mr. Crissman was the vice president for branch administration in the bank's Clearwater, Fla., region. The region includes the seven branches in Lee and Charlotte counties that he will oversee in his new post.

He joined Amsouth from Jacksonville-based Barnett Bank; he was its senior vice president in Tampa. (Barnett has since been absorbed into NationsBank Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., now Bank of America Corp.)

Amsouth also promoted a Clearwater assistant vice president, Gary L. Scholl, to vice president and residential sales manager there. He will manage the residential loan sales force for Pinellas and Pasco counties.

Mr. Scholl joined Amsouth last year as a loan officer. He came from NationsBank, where he held a similar title; he had also worked for Barnett Bank. Earlier he managed a Freedom Savings Bank branch in Dunedin, Fla.

Amsouth Bank is based in Birmingham, Ala., and owned by Amsouth Bancorp.
