In Brief: Two Key Execs at Fleet to Leave at Yearend

Two high-ranking executives from Fleet Financial Group, Michael R. Zucchini and John P. Hamill, said last week that they will resign at yearend.

Mr. Zucchini, 52, vice chairman and chief technology officer, is leaving for personal reasons, the bank said. A native New Yorker, he has announced plans to move to Southern California to pursue his interest in competitive horse jumping.

Mr. Hamill, 59, president of Fleet Bank of Massachusetts, is leaving because his role would change after the bank's acquisition of BankBoston Corp., Fleet said. Mr. Hamill said he would remain in Boston. Fleet said it would name his successor in the coming days. It has not named a successor for Mr. Zucchini.
