Card Briefs: Fedex Renews Deal For Fleet Charge Cards

The fleet card vendor Wright Express said its contract with Federal Express Corp. has been renewed for five years.

Wright Express said Federal Express, which has 42,000 delivery vehicles, can track purchases made on its Universal fleet cards through an on-line management system. Fedex drivers use a total of five million gallons of fuel a month, 60% of it gasoline and 40% diesel.

The on-line tracking system lets Federal Express compare fuel usage and trends at its 600 branches.

Wright Express, a subsidiary of Cendant Corp., said its fleet cards are accepted at five out of six fueling stations nationwide.
