Short Takes: Money Funds' Assets Climb 0.56% in Week

Money market assets rose 0.56%, to $1.44 trillion, in the week ended May 5, the Investment Company Institute reported.

Retail assets dropped 0.02%, to $858.41 billion. Taxable retail funds rose 0.0037%, to $713.31 billion, and tax-exempt funds fell 0.15%, to $145.11 billion.

Assets of institutional money market funds jumped 1.29%, to $584.21 billion. Taxable funds in that category rose 0.896%, to $537.09 billion; tax-exempt funds 5.96%, to $47.12 billion.
