In Brief: New Finance Position Filled at Freddie Mac

Freddie Mac has hired Douglas Westfall, 49, to be director of multifamily public finance, a new post. He will oversee development of credit enhancements for tax-exempt bonds.

Mr. Westfall was director for multifamily affordable housing products in Fannie Mae's southeastern office.

Since 1993, Freddie Mac has supplied more than $15 billion of financing for more than 3,500 multifamily properties, the company said. Included are 580,000 rental units occupied by people at or below median income.
