In Brief: Broker Alters Name To Signal Focus on Net

IMN Financial Corp., said Tuesday that it has changed its name to AppOnline.com Inc.

The company, whose subsidiaries offer mortgage brokerage and banking services, said the name change reflects its growing emphasis on Internet mortgage lending.

The firm's Web site became operational at the end of December and yielded $90 million of mortgage originations during the first quarter.

Chief executive officer and chairman Edward Capuano said AppOnline.com hopes to become a dominant player in the on-line home mortgage business.

The company said it will pursue intensive Internet development and marketing, led by the newly hired team of Tom Soevyn, vice president of Internet marketing and formerly of CMP Media, and Razi Karim, vice president of Internet operations, formerly of Microstrategy Inc.
