Short Takes: Money Fund Assets Essentially Flat in Week

Assets in money market funds were flat at $1.443 trillion in the week that ended May 12, the Investment Company Institute reported.

Assets in retail money market funds dropped 0.27%, to $856.15 billion. Taxable funds in that category fell 0.38%, to $710.62 billion, while nontaxable funds rose 0.29%, to $145.53 billion.

Institutional money market funds jumped 0.51%, to $587.28 billion. Taxable funds in that category rose 0.41%, to $539.31 billion. Nontaxable funds increased 1.58%, to $47.97 billion.
