Tech Bytes: Start-Up System Designer Hires B of A Exec

A new company called eForce Inc. has appointed a Bank of America veteran as its chief technology officer.

Sukan Makmuri, formerly vice president of technology for the bank's interactive banking division, will oversee the technical direction of eForce, which aims to become a systems integrator for Fortune 1000 companies.

The one-month-old company plans to integrate software from vendors such as Andromedia, BroadVision, eGain, and Vignette for electronic commerce, Siebel Systems and Genesys for customer relationship management, and Active Software and New Era of Networks for enterprise application integration.

eForce is headed by Nat Natraj, who was vice president and general manager of the financial services division at Siebel Systems.

He said companies need systems integration strategies as the focus of information technology shifts from back-office to front-office applications.

eForce has received funding from venture capital firms Greylock Ventures and Draper Richards and private investments from some chief executive officers of Silicon Valley companies.

Robert Browne, practice director of enterprise applications integration, was formerly senior vice president of technology at UMB Bank in Kansas City, Mo.
