The Portland, Ore., software vendor said Monday that the Hyderabad IT company plans to offer mobile banking, contactless payments, remittance, and identity management software that banks can use to create a comprehensive service for their customers.

Satyam has more than 650 clients in 63 countries.

Satyam said some of its bank customers are already planning to use the Tyfone software, though it would not name any.

Satyam said it selected Tyfone because its software can handle both mobile banking and near-field communication contactless payments, and can easily be integrated into its customers' existing systems.

B. Rama Raju, Satyam's co-founder and chief executive, said in a press release, "Tyfone has successfully developed a superior product and made it simple for customers to adopt."
