Datacard Group, a Minnetonka, Minn., provider of identification and card personalization services, has acquired longtime partner Datacard South Pacific Pty. Ltd.

Previously a Datacard Group distributor and joint venture affiliate, Datacard South Pacific provides pre- and postsales support for Datacard Group's identification and card personalization systems and software in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. The company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Datacard Group. The purchase was announced July 22.

As part of the new organization, Datacard Group has appointed Michael Robertson as regional director, South Pacific. He has held numerous sales and services roles with Datacard South Pacific since joining the company in 1999.
