ProPay to Launch Secure Web Terminal

ProPay is introducing a secure virtual terminal that can help small merchants improve their data security.

The terminal allows merchants that need to store card data, such as for repeat billing, in a digital "vault" managed by ProPay.

The Lehi, Utah, vendor then provides the merchant with an identifier that allows the card data to be recalled when necessary.

"It is a common misconception that data thieves only target large, well-known organizations," Heather Mark, ProPay's senior vice president of market strategies, said in a press release Wednesday.

"In fact, smaller companies, because of their perceived lack of resources and technical sophistication, are often targeted by cybercriminals."
