Intuit Renames Online Banking Unit

Intuit Inc. is doing away with the Digital Insight name for its online banking division.

Intuit, of Mountain View, Calif., bought the online banking vendor Digital Insight in 2007 after the two companies had begun work on a personal financial management-based online banking system that eventually became Intuit's FinanceWorks.

Intuit said the unit's new name, Intuit Financial Services, reflects the direction in which it has taken the former Digital Insight's offerings by integrating them with other Intuit products, such as its TurboTax online tax-preparation service.

"Digital Insight has long been synonymous with excellence in online banking, but online banking by itself is becoming increasingly irrelevant as consumers and businesses need and expect more from their financial institution," Sasan Goodarzi, the president of Intuit Financial Services, said in a press release Wednesday.
