Chexar to Buy Remote Deposit Capture Company

Chexar Networks has agreed to acquire Clear Payments of Nashville, Tenn.

Chexar, a check-cashing technology company based in Roswell, Ga., has partnered with Clear Payments for several years and uses "some facet of their technology on almost every transaction we process," Chexar founder and Chief Executive Drew W. Edwards said in a news release. Clear Payments provides remote deposit capture and mobile products.

"Considering that the professionals at CPI work with us today almost like we are already one company, this transaction is a natural for us both," Edwards said.

The financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close by the end of June, were not disclosed.
