Small Missouri Bank Failure Raises 2012 Count to 33

Regulators late Friday seized the $24.8 million-asset Glasgow Savings Bank in Glasgow, Mo.

Regional Missouri Bank in Marceline, Mo., will assume all of Glasgow Savings' $24 million in deposits and buy essentially all of its assets. The deal also includes the failed bank's sole branch.

The failure is estimated to cost the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. just $100,000.

Glasgow Savings is the nation's 33rd bank to fail this year, and the first in Missouri. The last bank to fail in the state was Sun Security Bank, in Ellington, in October 2011.
