Movenbank is adding to its management team.

The financial services startup said Wednesday that Mohamed Khalil has joined the company as director of products, data and partnerships.

Khalil, 35, joins Movenbank from Bundle.com, a joint venture of Citigroup (NYSE: C), Microsoft (MSFT) and Morningstar (MORN). He also has held posts at Merrill Lynch, First Manhattan Consulting Group and Novantas.

"Mohamed's skills, experience and vision will play a vital role in Movenbank's mission to help our customers spend, save, and live smarter by integrating the worlds of social, big data, mobile banking and payments," Alex Sion, president of Movenbank, said in a news release.

Movenbank's service, slated to be rolled out early next year, will function as a digital debit card that draws on customer funds that would be held in Movenbank's partner banks. Movenbank will track transactions and spending habits to help users realize their savings goals.

In August, the company raised $2.4 million in seed money from a group of funders that includes Anthemis Group in London; Raptor Ventures in Boston; Kevin Plank, the founder and chief executive of Under Armour; and a syndicate of Singaporean investors.

Khalil will be the startup's director of products, data and partnerships.
