Accenture to Run Technology Operations for BBVA in Chile

Accenture (ACN) is expanding its relationship with a Spanish banking giant.

The global technology services and consulting company will maintain all of the software and systems that support operations for the Chile division of BBVA, the companies said Monday.

The BBVA unit, based in Santiago, will use Accenture's Alnova Financial Solutions platform to manage transactions, ATM and credit card services, online and mobile banking, and compliance, according to the companies.

"BBVA's strong position in Chile, across Latin America and around the world is a result of its clear vision for how operations and technology should center on its customers," Juan Pedro Moreno, global managing director for Accenture's banking industry practice, said in a news release. "We are proud of our decades of work helping the bank achieve that vision and look forward to our new role in helping evolve and improve its core system in Chile through our application outsourcing services."

Accenture will provide the services to BBVA as part of an agreement that runs for four years, the companies said.
