VeriFone (PAY) announced Monday that gasoline retailer Valero Retail Holdings has chosen to implement the terminal maker's Paymedia for Secure PumpPay.

The Paymedia add-on gives gas stations the ability to accept new payment types and present advertising on the pump's screens.

"Valero Retail's Corner Store network represents a customer base that is ideal for advertisers and marketers to reach consumers through an interactive digital marketing experience at the pump, and immediately influence purchasing decisions," said Jennifer Miles, VeriFone's executive vice president in North America, in a press release.

VeriFone rolled out the technology in the Spring of 2011.
