ICBA Partners with Visa for V.me Digital Wallet

ICBA Bancard has partnered with Visa (NYSE:V) for the credit card company's digital wallet service, V.me.

Once online banking customers enroll in V.me, they will be able to pay online by entering a user name and password. Users won't have to enter other information normally required such as an account number and a bill to address at checkout.

Visa will work with ICBA Bancard, the payment services unit of the Independent Community Bankers of America, and its members to more broadly deliver the service to online banking customers, the group said Tuesday.

"We are very excited to announce this new service offering for ICBA Bancard members and their customers," Noah Wilcox, ICBA Bancard chairman and president, said in a news release. He is also the chief executive and vice chairman of Grand Rapids State Bank in Minnesota. "With so many customers realizing the benefit of online and digital banking services, the V.me service will add even more convenience and ease to their community banking experience."

ICBA Bancard was one of the more than 50 financial institution partners that Visa has signed up for its V.me service. The Members Group also also agreed to offer v.me to its financial institution clients.
