Consumers National Bank in Minerva, Ohio, is using a Web-based loan origination system from LendingQB to operate its mortgage lending business.

The $337 million-asset bank selected LendingQB to launch its mortgage business in April, LendingQB said Tuesday. Consumers National first implemented LendingQB's end-to-end loan origination system prior to hiring staff. This allowed the bank to work with LendingQB's implementation team to evaluate their technology and business objectives and then configure workflow, LendingQB said.

LendingQB's Edoc paperless system and integrations with ComplianceEase and DocMagic allows Consumers National to operate entirely within the loan origination system and automate certain processes.

Based in Costa Mesa, Calif., LendingQB provides loan origination technology and services for the mortgage industry.

Mortgage Servicing's New Pecking Order
U.S. banks are expected to unload up to $2 trillion in mortgage servicing rights. Behind the sell-off are tough new Basel III capital requirements and the past failures in servicing troubled loans that has brought unwanted scrutiny. Picking up the slack are nonbanks like Nationstar (NSM), Ocwen Financial (OCN) and Walter Investment (WAC), all of which have been aggressively snapping up banks' servicing portfolios. Watch out, too, for Penny Mac, which plans to use the proceeds from its planned public offering to fund servicing acquisitions.
