Japanese Bank Implementing Virtual Desktops

The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi is in the process of deploying 50,000 devices from Wyse Technology as part of a virtual desktop infrastructure implementation.

When the process is completed, 90% of the bank’s existing legacy PCs will be replaced with Wyse desktop and mobile thin clients. The bank plans to implement 13,000 to 14,000 Wyse mobile thin clients, Wyse said Tuesday.

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi is the core business of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. It has 773 branches in Japan and 73 internationally.

Wyse, headquartered in San Jose, Calif., provides thin, zero and cloud PC client solutions with advanced management, desktop virtualization and cloud software.
