Vermont Federal CU Installs FMSI's Teller-Management System

Vermont Federal Credit Union in Burlington has deployed FMSI's system for improving teller staffing.

The $385 million-asset credit union has begun using FMSI's Teller Management System, the Atlanta-based technology company said Wednesday. The system uses information on branch traffic from a bank or credit union's internal systems to allocate more tellers during peak hours and reduce the number during off hours, FMSI said. The system is designed to reduce costs while also providing better service at the busiest times.

"Before talking with FMSI, we were not using forecasted teller transactions to help us determine the right number of staff at the right times in our branches, "says Tom Crapo, senior vice president at Vermont Federal. FMSI's system "helps us leverage our transaction activity, pulled from our core system, to predict the busiest moments in our branches."
