GoBank Goes Live

Green Dot's mobile consumer checking account, GoBank, is now open to the public.

Earlier this year, the Pasadena, Calif. company launched its mobile app to about 10,000 people in a limited release. At FinovateSpring in San Francisco, Green Dot announced that the app would leave beta over the Fourth of July weekend.

There wasn't an immediate explanation for why the time table was bumped up.

Customers can sign up for the app on iTunes or at GoBank.com. They can also pick up the bank’s cards at Barnes & Noble College bookstores, Rite Aid and Kmart stores, in addition to ordering that plastic online.
