Fiserv Inc. (FISV) announced Tuesday a banking app for iPad and iPad mini.
The product, Mobiliti: Tablet, lets consumers access accounts, pay bills and other people, make mobile deposits, and find ATMs and branches, among other touch-enabled tasks.
More than 100 banks and credit unions have committed to deploying the ASP solution, according to a press release issued Tuesday.
Bankers nationwide have noticed that tablets (sometimes called "couch devices") are used differently than smartphones and websites, and require specialized design.
"Research has shown tablet banking users are more engaged than other mobile banking users, as they use digital channels more frequently and consume a larger number of financial services," said Bradley Scott, vice president, Mobile Solutions, Fiserv, in a release.
Meanwhile, retail
Fiserv's Mobiliti line supports mobile banking and payments for more than 1,200 financial institutions.
Fiserv said a downloadable app for Android tablets will be available in 2014.
