BBVA Updates Mobile Apps with Remote Deposit for Small Business

BBVA Compass has upgraded its mobile apps for the iPhone and Android devices.

The Houston-based division of Spanish banking company Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria said Thursday it has begun offering mobile deposit to eligible small businesses and new consumer banking customers.

BBVA Compass also said it has introduced a revamped payments section. It includes access to bill payments and picture bill pay, a feature that lets customers snap a photo of a bill to add a payee, set up recurring payments, and make one-time or expedited payments.

"More and more customers are relying on mobile apps to run businesses and conduct transactions when away from home, the office or a bank branch," said Alex Carriles, BBVA Compass' director of its self-service channels, in a press release. "Offering one of our most popular features — Mobile Deposit — to more customers, in particular small business owners, helps us put the financial tools they need at their fingertips."
