Senate Banking Hearing Scheduled with Top Banking Regulators

WASHINGTON — The Senate Banking Committee has scheduled its first hearing of the year with a number of top banking regulators to discuss implementation of the Dodd-Frank reform law and other issues.

The hearing, scheduled for Thursday morning at 10:30, is titled "Wall Street Reform: Oversight of Financial Stability and Consumer and Investor Protections."

The lineup includes Mary Miller, undersecretary for domestic finance at the Treasury Department; Daniel Tarullo, a Federal Reserve Board governor; Martin Gruenberg, chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.; Thomas Curry, comptroller of the currency; Richard Cordray, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; Elisse Walter, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission; and Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

So, I'm probably in the minority on this site, but I think this is a good thing. Dodd-Frank will be difficult, but it is mostly positive for customers. I'm glad it is getting the backing needed to really make some headway. GLBA and SOX have always been a PITA, but I would argue it make banks better. No reason to believe that DF will be any different.
