Polaris Financial Technology has opened a financial-technology design center in Chennai, India.
The center was inaugurated Wednesday by Michael Harte, group executive for enterprise services and chief information officer at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Polaris said. The center, which Polaris says is the first of its kind in the world, is dedicated to developing financial technology while reducing complexity and increasing collaboration.
The center is located on Polaris' 22-acre campus, and includes branches dedicated to collaborative design, strategic design, research and intellectual property. It opened late last month and has seven design labs where customers can collaborate with Polaris' development teams.
"We believe design thinking is the most powerful bridge to balance multiple and often conflicting imperatives," said Polaris Chief Executive Arun Jain in the news release announcing the opening. "FT 8012, our design center, has been thoughtfully created to bring the two powerful forces of design and collaboration together."
