City Bank Texas Rolls Out Photo Mobile Bill Payment

City Bank Texas in Lubbock has chosen Allied Payment Network's mobile bill payment tool.

The $2 billion-asset bank now offers Picture Pay, an application that allows customers to pay bills by taking pictures of them with their mobile phones, the Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Allied said Tuesday. The application reads the bill, confirms with the biller and automatically transfers the money through Allied Payment Network.

The application also allows customers to set up automatic payments and to expedite payments, the release says.

"We needed a bill pay solution that embraced the mobile platform to ensure our user experience met our customers' evolving needs," said Jim Simpson, chief technology officer for City Bank, in the news release. "By implementing Picture Pay, we're able to achieve that goal with a unique offering that will set City Bank apart from other financial institutions in our competitive market."
